White House confirms no active negotiations with Iran

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated that there are currently no negotiations taking place between the United States and Iran. Leavitt, who is nearing the end of her tenure, emphasized that President Donald Trump maintains all options on the table and asserted that the U.S. effectively controls the Strait of Hormuz.

Leavitt noted a shift from military operations toward a strategy of “economic expulsion,” focusing on sanctions to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. She indicated that the current lack of dialogue will continue until the administration believes Iran is prepared to engage in a meaningful manner.

In response to U.S. economic pressures, Mohsen Rezaee, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, outlined several conditions for any potential agreement. These include the cessation of hostilities in West Asia—specifically in Lebanon and Gaza—and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from controlled areas in Lebanon. Rezaee warned that Iran is prepared for new stages of confrontation and would respond to increased economic pressure by targeting U.S. economic interests in the region.
