White House denies diesel export ban and restricts press access

The White House has denied reports that the United States is considering a 90-day ban on diesel exports to control fuel prices. An official dismissed a Politico report regarding the potential ban as ‘fake news,’ noting that Energy Secretary Chris Wright previously stated such a measure would likely increase prices for gasoline and aviation fuel rather than stabilize them.

Separately, the White House has barred journalists from Politico, CNN, and MS NOW from entering the premises, despite a federal judge’s ruling ordering the immediate restoration of their access. The court had previously blocked a ban imposed by Donald Trump, characterizing it as potentially unconstitutional. Additionally, Politico reported that the credentials of one of its journalists were seized.
