White House investigates claims of missing $6 million Kennedy Center donation

The White House has launched an investigation into allegations that a $6 million donation intended for the Kennedy Center was never deposited. The claim was made by Alina Habba, a former personal attorney to President Trump, during a meeting in the Oval Office.

Habba alleges that Ric Grenell, who served as the Kennedy Center’s executive director until March, failed to deposit the funds. The donation was reportedly provided by Habba’s husband, Turkish billionaire Turhan Mildon. According to administration officials, Grenell allegedly convinced Mildon to make a $17.6 million wire transfer as part of a business partnership, of which $5.6 million was designated for the performing arts venue.

Grenell has denied the accusations, calling them “absurd” and a “lie.” While some administration officials expressed skepticism regarding the veracity of the claims, President Trump has referred the matter to White House Counsel Will Scharf for further review.
