White House responds to Chuck Lorre's insults toward Trump

Television producer Chuck Lorre sparked a confrontation with the White House during his acceptance of the Founders Award at a Project Angel Food charity event in Los Angeles. During his speech, Lorre directed personal insults toward President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

Lorre referred to the President using derogatory language and made jokes regarding his health. He also criticized Melania Trump, comparing her unfavorably to former First Lady Michelle Obama and using disparaging descriptions of her background and character. Lorre stated that his professional instincts as a comedy writer compelled him to use the platform for humor rather than purely for the charity.

The White House responded sharply to the remarks. Spokesperson Davis Ingle issued a statement to Fox News Digital suggesting that Lorre should seek psychiatric help to treat what the administration characterized as a severe case of ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’
