White House uses Bad Bunny song in TikTok video promoting ICE deportations
The White House posted a TikTok video that uses Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny’s track “La Mudanza” as the soundtrack for footage of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arresting and deporting migrants. The original lyric “Un aplauso pa’ mami y papi, porque en verdad rompieron” was altered on screen to read “A round of applause for Donald J. Trump because he really crushed it.”
The clip, which has drawn nearly a million views, sparked widespread criticism because Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) has publicly opposed Trump’s immigration policies, calling for “ICE out” at the 2026 Grammys and avoiding U.S. tour dates. The artist has not yet commented on the White House’s use of his music. The video has generated a split reaction on social media, with some supporters praising the administration’s message and many others condemning the appropriation of a critic’s song for political propaganda. A second TikTok video later used a Drake track for a similar deportation‑focused message.
