White House unconcerned by Netanyahu's rejection of Gaza peace plan

The White House is reportedly unconcerned regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rejection of a 15-point peace plan for Gaza. According to Axios, a senior U.S. official stated that the administration views Netanyahu's stance as part of the Israeli election season.

Despite his public rejection of the "Peace Council" plan, Netanyahu reportedly spoke with Jared Kushner, special envoy for President Donald Trump, last week. During the call, Netanyahu promised to give the plan a chance despite his doubts and expressed a willingness to limit strikes in Gaza to allow for potential demilitarization processes.

Netanyahu has maintained that the Israeli military will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip until Hamas is completely disarmed. This follows a previous agreement reached on October 9, 2025, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, the United States, and Turkey, which saw Israeli forces retreat to a "yellow line" while maintaining control over more than 50% of the territory.
