White Motorcycle Concepts unveils Mono RR aerodynamic demonstrator

White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC) has introduced the Mono RR, a technology demonstrator designed to showcase how advanced aerodynamics and compact powertrains can improve motorcycle efficiency and performance. Based on the Krämer EVO2 690R track motorcycle, the Mono RR utilizes a patented aerodynamic duct that allows air to pass through the center of the vehicle rather than around the fairing. This design reportedly reduces aerodynamic drag by 16.4% and increases downforce by 77% compared to conventional motorcycles.

The Mono RR features a 449cc single-cylinder engine sourced from the Yamaha YZ450F, modified with a Rotrex C15-20 supercharger. The engine utilizes a reverse-cylinder-head design to separate cool intake air from hot exhaust gases, facilitating the integration of the aerodynamic duct. This setup allows the powertrain to be approximately 20kg lighter than previous iterations. WMC aims to use this project to explore meeting stricter emission standards and reducing fuel consumption without altering traditional riding ergonomics.
