A resident of White Rock, British Columbia, has issued a community request for dog owners to visit his mother, Ruth, for her 91st birthday.

Ruth, who is wheelchair-bound and misses her late dog, will be sitting outside the Bean Around the World cafe at the corner of Johnston and Thrift from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, August 18. Her son, Chris, requested that passersby bring their dogs to say hello, share the pet's name, age, and breed, or allow the dog to sit in her lap.
