White Tower of Thessaloniki unveils new lighting system

The historic White Tower in Thessaloniki is debuting a new lighting system designed to highlight its architectural features using modern technology and bioclimatic specifications. The unveiling ceremony is scheduled for October 27 at 18:00, with the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President Konstantinos Tasoulas.

The project, organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Thessaloniki, was implemented through a donation from Metlen. The initiative aims to create a unified lighting identity that integrates the monument harmoniously into the Thessaloniki waterfront.

This upgrade is part of a broader program to promote the city's fortified complex, which includes the Heptapyrgion and the Byzantine Walls—monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
