Whitehorse RCMP charges man for alleged hate-motivated mischief at mosque

The Whitehorse RCMP has arrested and charged a man in connection with a series of alleged hate-motivated incidents targeting the Whitehorse Mosque. The Yukon Muslim Society reported that between August 13 and September 10, the property was targeted with feces smeared on doors, offensive remarks painted on the building, and spray paint applied to a vehicle and another structure.

The accused faces six counts of mischief relating to a building used for religious worship, with each offense alleged to be motivated by hatred under the Criminal Code. Following a court appearance on September 14, the individual was released on conditions.
