WHO and Peking University partner to boost global health emergency preparedness

The World Health Organization (WHO) and Peking University have signed a two-year collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening global health emergency preparedness. The partnership involves the WHO’s Risk Analytics and Action Reviews (RAR) Unit and Peking University’s Institute for Global Health.

The collaboration will focus on three primary areas: conducting operational and implementation research regarding health emergencies, developing and delivering training on WHO tools—such as simulation exercises (SimEx) and after-action reviews (AAR)—and creating methodologies to assess the impact and outcomes of investments in preparedness systems. The initiative seeks to improve the ability of countries to prevent, prepare for, and respond to health crises while building long-term resilience.
