WHO Director-General meets ENHYPEN in Seoul to celebrate blood donation success

World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus met with K-pop group ENHYPEN at HYBE headquarters in Seoul on October 22, 2026. The meeting celebrated the success of a joint voluntary blood donation campaign designed to inspire young people globally.

The collaboration, which began in early 2026, utilized the group’s artistic themes and social media presence to promote safe blood donation. A domestic drive in South Korea, launched alongside the group’s mini-album, saw 7,730 participants, including 1,031 first-time donors—a nearly 19-fold increase from previous baseline levels.

During the visit, members of the group, including Jay and Jungwon, participated in donor eligibility screenings at a Korean Red Cross center, with Jay and Jungwon donating plasma. The initiative leveraged the group’s global fan community, known as ENGENE, to drive engagement through digital content and social media.
