WHO identifies physical activity as key to reducing anxiety

The World Health Organization (WHO) highlights that regular physical activity is a simple yet effective daily habit to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and enhance overall mental health. While sedentary lifestyles and excessive screen time contribute to fatigue and stress, physical movement triggers the release of brain chemicals that foster confidence and positivity.

Mental health challenges are a growing global concern, with anxiety and depression significantly impacting productivity and quality of life. In Vietnam, UNICEF reports that between 8% and 29% of children and adolescents experience common mental health issues. The 2026 World Mental Health Day theme, ‘Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change’, aims to emphasize the importance of listening to real-world experiences to drive positive shifts in mental health care.
