WHO launches Regional Health Data Centre for Africa

The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched the Regional Health Data Centre, a digital platform designed to integrate health information from 47 Member States in the African Region. Launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, during the WHO Regional Committee for Africa meeting, the platform aims to support governments in making evidence-based decisions.

The digital environment features interactive dashboards, maps, and analytical tools covering various sectors, including maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, and general health systems. By centralizing fragmented data, the center intends to help identify vulnerable populations and facilitate more effective resource distribution across the continent.
