Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Vietnam doubles top prize to 500 million VND

The Vietnamese game show ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ has announced a significant increase in its top prize. Starting from the broadcast on March 31, 2026, the maximum reward for correctly answering the 15th question will rise to 500 million VND, doubling the previous record of 250 million VND.

Other prize milestones have also been adjusted, including an increase in the first question's reward from 200,000 VND to 1 million VND. To claim the top prize, contestants must answer all 15 questions correctly; a single mistake can result in losing much of the accumulated winnings based on safety milestones.

Historically, reaching the 15th question has been rare in the show's Vietnamese history. Only three players have reached this final stage: Nguyễn Lê Anh in 2008, Trần Đặng Đăng Khoa in 2021, and Nguyễn Trường Giang in March 2026. To date, no contestant has successfully answered the final question to claim the grand prize.
