Whoop-Up Days festival begins in Lethbridge, Alberta
The annual Whoop-Up Days festival has commenced in Lethbridge, Alberta, featuring celebrations of Indigenous culture, local cuisine, and regional heritage.
As part of the festivities, the Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) visited the city to showcase its cavalry heritage through a Musical Ride. The regiment, which traces its origins back to 1900, maintains a presence with horses to preserve its historical connection to the Canadian Armed Forces, despite the modern transition away from horseback training. This visit marks the unit's first appearance in Lethbridge in several years.
