Whoopi Goldberg cites compensation as primary reason for staying on The View

Whoopi Goldberg has revealed that her continued role as a moderator on the ABC talk show The View is largely motivated by her compensation. Having co-hosted the program since 2007, the 70-year-old actress told W Magazine that she is “well-paid” and performs her job effectively.

Goldberg noted that while she enjoys the work and the ability to discuss various topics, the financial aspect is a significant factor. She remarked, “I earn my dough, and sometimes people like it, sometimes they don’t,” adding that the income provides stability compared to film roles.

In previous comments made on the “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast, Goldberg had also teased the scale of her earnings, suggesting that viewers would be “shocked” by the size of her paycheck.
