Whoopi Goldberg Joins Netflix Film and Returns Off‑Broadway with ‘The Whoopi Monologues’

Actress and talk‑show host Whoopi Goldberg, an EGOT winner, has been cast in the Netflix movie Women Like Us, directed by Tasha Smith and co‑starring Jenifer Lewis, Vanessa Williams and Vivica A. Fox. The film follows a recently widowed woman on a journey of grief and friendship.

In parallel, Goldberg’s solo stage work is appearing off‑Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater as “The Whoopi Monologues.” The production, running through Aug. 30, features a rotating ensemble that includes Kerry Washington, Dominique Fishback, Danielle Pinnock, Kara Young and Kecia Lewis, with Jurnee Smollett slated to take over after Washington’s run ends.

Both projects highlight Goldberg’s continued influence in entertainment and have sparked fan speculation about her future on ABC’s The View.
