Whoosh launches electric scooter service in Campo Grande
The micromobility company Whoosh has launched a shared electric scooter service in Campo Grande, Brazil. The operation begins with an initial fleet of 980 scooters distributed across six neighborhoods: São Francisco, Centro, São Bento, Jardim dos Estados, Itanhangá Parque, and Monte Líbano.
The Municipal Agency of Transport and Traffic (Agetran) has authorized the company to operate for a 90-day experimental period. The city administration intends to evaluate the performance of the service during this phase and may extend the trial for another 90 days before considering a permanent implementation. A formal bidding process to regulate the service permanently is expected to be prepared for 2027.
Users can access the service via the Whoosh app, which requires users to be over 18 years old. Pricing includes a R$ 0.90 unlocking fee plus rates starting from R$ 0.49 per minute, with various minute packages available through the application. Scooters must be parked at designated points indicated on the app's map.
