Whop reaches $5.1 billion valuation following $200 million funding round

Palo Alto-based Whop has secured $200 million in a Series D funding round led by Sequoia Capital and Shopify Ventures. This investment brings the company’s valuation to $5.1 billion, more than tripling its $1.6 billion valuation from February when Tether made a strategic investment.

The capital is intended to fund international expansion, including plans to open offices in Europe and Colombia, as well as research into advertising and payments. Whop provides a gamified interface and API designed to assist business operators with distribution, business creation, and financial management.

According to company data, approximately 25,000 operators generate $550 million in monthly revenue on the platform, with over $7 billion in cumulative on-platform transactions across 185 countries. The company has recently integrated AI capabilities, such as a command-line interface that allows operators to manage businesses via prompts, and tools like Business Blueprints and Economic Intelligence to assist with business deployment and ROI optimization.
