Wia Slovakia to invest €31M in Martin automotive plant
Wia Slovakia, a subsidiary of the South Korean Hyundai Wia Corporation, is expanding its operations in Martin, Slovakia. The company plans to relocate production from Dolný Hričov to the former Ecco Slovakia facility.
The investment involves approximately 31.37 million euros, with 26.77 million euros allocated to industrial production by late 2029 and 4.6 million euros for a new technological center. In support of this project, the Slovak government has approved 8.9 million euros in state aid in the form of income tax relief.
The expansion aims to create 255 new jobs by 2032, including 245 in industrial manufacturing and 10 in the technology center. Combined with existing staff, the company expects to employ over 469 people by 2032 and approximately 600 people by 2035. The facility will produce components for electric vehicles, such as drive shafts, cooling modules for batteries, traction motors, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
