Wichita Kansas Temple begins open house for public tours

The Wichita Kansas Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has begun its open house period. Following a media day on Monday, September 21, the temple will be open for free public tours from Thursday, September 24, through October 10, excluding Sundays and October 3.

As the first temple in the state of Kansas, the facility will serve more than 14,500 local members out of the nearly 40,000 Latter-day Saints residing in the state. The temple's design incorporates local landscape motifs, such as sunflowers and rolling wheat fields, with an interior color palette of sage green, golden wheat, soft paprika, and buttercream.

The temple was originally announced in April 2022 and construction began in 2024. It is scheduled to be dedicated on Sunday, November 1, 2026, by Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
