Wick Boys: Hunter Valley students run successful candle business

Lucas Dagg and Jake Rooney, two 14-year-old students from St Philip's Christian College, Nulkaba, are running a successful artisan candle business called Wick Boys in the Hunter Valley.

The business was founded when the pair were 12 after they identified a market gap for reliable candle stockists for their parents' cellar doors. The duo manages all aspects of the company, including production in their own studio, marketing, accounting, and inventory management.

In addition to selling to local businesses and cellar doors, the boys have expanded into local markets, such as the Hunter Valley Wine Country market, offering a range of home scents and seasonal products.
