Wicked band’s single ‘Sunburn’ featured in film ‘Nickels’

The rock band Wicked has signed a licensing agreement with Briarcliff Entertainment to feature their 2023 single, ‘Sunburn,’ in the drama/thriller film ‘Nickels.’ Released on October 2, 2026, the film is directed by Spencer King and written by Tim Tuchrello.

In addition to being part of the soundtrack, the band’s vinyl record is integrated into the film’s storyline as a nostalgic element used by characters to honor a deceased family member. The film stars Rob Riggle as Tom Monroe, a man dealing with the loss of his brother, alongside Aaron Holliday, Bitsie Tulloch, and Odessa A’zion.

Founders Chad Michael and Danny Martin attended a private screening in Santa Monica, California, prior to the film’s theatrical and Amazon streaming release. The movie is inspired by a true story and explores themes of grief, faith, and reincarnation.
