Wicked celebrates 20th anniversary in London's West End

The musical «Wicked» is celebrating its 20th anniversary in London’s West End. Since its official premiere at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on September 27, 2006, the production has become the ninth longest-running show in West End history.

Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel with music by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the show reimagines the origins of Elphaba and Glinda from «The Wizard of Oz». The production has earned over 100 awards worldwide and recently welcomed its 14 millionth visitor.

Tickets for the production are currently on sale through May 30, 2027. The anniversary coincides with renewed global interest in the franchise following the upcoming Hollywood film adaptation starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
