Wickertree Furniture Reopens Historic Pioneer House in Ladysmith, BC

Wickertree Furniture, owned by Josh Cole, has taken over the former Pioneer House building in Ladysmith, British Columbia. The site, a former restaurant that burned down in 2018, is being restored as the new permanent home for the furniture store, which specializes in indoor and outdoor pieces and unique artisan items. Cole said the building is an iconic community landmark and highlighted his focus on building relationships with customers.

The store will hold a grand reopening on August 8, featuring artisan vendors, food trucks and live music from Sun FM. Community members are curious whether the historic 1800s bar inside the building has been retained.
