Widden Stud secures half-share in stallion prospect Hotazhell

Widden Stud has secured a 50 per cent share in the prominent European stallion prospect Hotazhell. The Australian breeding property negotiated the deal with Nicolas de Chambure’s Haras d’Etreham in France.

Hotazhell, a son of Too Darn Hot, is a three-time Group 1 winner. His recent successes include victories in the Irish Champion Stakes, the Futurity Trophy, and the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis. Following a planned appearance at the Qatar Racing Champion Stakes at Ascot, the horse will retire to Haras d’Etreham in Normandy to stand for the European breeding season before moving to Widden Stud to stand for the Southern Hemisphere season.

Antony Thompson of Widden Stud noted that the horse is ideally suited to the Australian market, citing his speed, toughness, and lineage.
