Widespread rain and wind forecast for UK and parts of US

A low-pressure system is bringing unsettled weather to both the United Kingdom and parts of the United States.

In the UK, a Met Office yellow wind warning is in place for the West as a deepening area of low pressure moves toward the country. Following stormy weather from Storm Austen and Storm Boelo, which produced wind gusts up to 80mph, new weather fronts are expected to bring persistent and heavy rain, particularly in high-altitude areas and the West of Scotland. While much of the country faces rain and wind, some southern areas may see temperatures slightly above average, reaching 15-17 °C.

In the United States, specifically Minnesota, an incoming low-pressure system is expected to bring widespread, long-lasting rain. Heavier rainfall is projected for Central Minnesota, with the potential for light snow in far Northern Minnesota. While rain may suppress temperatures initially, a southern flow is expected to bring warmer conditions later in the week, with highs returning to the 60s.
