Świdnica introduces historical AR app and celebrates 40 years of photography

The city of Świdnica is introducing new cultural and technological initiatives to enhance tourism and local art appreciation. A new free mobile application, ‘Zwiedzaj Dolny Śląsk’ (Explore Lower Silesia), has been launched to allow visitors to view historical reconstructions of the city. Using 3D reconstructions and 360-degree panoramas, users can compare current views of the Market Square, the cathedral, and the Church of Peace with how they appeared 100 to 300 years ago.

Additionally, the city is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Świdnica Photography Days. The jubilee edition, scheduled for September 18–20, features various exhibitions of both classic and contemporary photography. The event includes the return of the international ‘Zestaw’ competition and the 35th Świdnica Photo Marathon, continuing a tradition that began in 1983 to bring photography into public spaces and shop windows.
