Świdnica Miasto station passage faces sanitary crisis

The underground passage at the Świdnica Miasto station in Poland is facing severe criticism due to extreme sanitary conditions. Despite being a high-traffic area used daily by hundreds of passengers, seniors, and students, the facility is reportedly plagued by bird droppings, urine odors, and sticky surfaces.

The passage is part of a major transport hub project that cost approximately 25 million PLN, including nearly 14 million PLN in funding from the European Union. While the railway infrastructure manager claims to clean the area “to the extent of available resources,” residents and commuters report that regular cleaning and disinfection are non-existent, with dirt accumulating over several months.
