Świdnica moves ahead with Museum of Brewing renovation
The city of Świdnica has secured a 210,000‑złotych grant to carry out a building inventory and develop an architectural concept for the historic 19th‑century maltings that will become the new Museum of Brewing. The municipality purchased the landmark for 480,000 zł, after initially valuing it at 520,000 zł, and plans to integrate it as a branch of the Museum of Ancient Trade.
Museum staff and members of a reconstruction group are filming a short movie that will illustrate medieval brewing practices for the upcoming exhibition. The project also includes restoring original features such as a former drying oven and chimney. The museum aims to debut its permanent and temporary displays at the "First Meeting of Brewing Historians and Brewers" scheduled for October 2026 in Świdnica.
