Widow honors late civil protection chief Carlos Heredia after Valle Fertil air crash

Susana Calivar, wife of the late Carlos Heredia, appeared on Estación Claridad to thank the public for the support received after her husband’s death in the Valle Fertil air tragedy that killed four Sanjuaninos last week. She described Heredia as a lifelong civil‑protection professional who trained in Colombia, Peru, Scotland and the United States and who always returned to teach his colleagues and the next generation. Herida, who never shied away from dangerous emergencies, was remembered for his hands‑on work in fires, floods and other crises, and for his belief that clear communication could protect the province. Calivar recalled their marriage since 1998, their two daughters, and Heredia’s dedication to sharing knowledge, saying he wanted his teachings to endure after his death.
