Apple TV+ renews horror‑comedy “Widow’s Bay” for Season 2

Apple TV+ announced a second‑season renewal for the horror‑comedy series “Widow’s Bay” ahead of the first‑season finale scheduled for June 17 2026. The show, led by Emmy‑winner Matthew Rhys as Mayor Tom Loftis and created by Katie Dippold with direction from Hiro Murai, has earned a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and topped the streamer’s charts in multiple markets. Apple TV’s head of programming, Matt Cherniss, said, “From the moment audiences arrived in Widow’s Bay, they’ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laugh and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew and the entire team have created.” The renewal was announced together with a new multiyear overall deal for Dippold to develop further projects for the platform. Dippold described the upcoming season: “Season two is about how everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about.” No release date for season 2 was given, but the renewal signals strong confidence in the series’ audience appeal.
