Widzew Łódź and Legia Warsaw eye new striker signings

Polish top‑flight club Widzew Łódź is reportedly pursuing free‑agent international Szymon Żurkowski. The 28‑year‑old forward, who has played 67 Serie A matches for Italy’s Torino, spent the last season mostly sidelined by a serious knee ligament injury and made only one appearance in Italy’s Serie C before his contract was terminated. Widzew, which has already added striker Karol Świderski and defender Mario Garcia, sees Żurkowski as a potential free‑transfer but acknowledges the risk given his recent injury record.

Meanwhile, Legia Warsaw coach Marek Papszun said the team still needs reinforcement up front ahead of the new league season. After recent friendly matches, he expressed a desire to acquire another striker, mentioning options such as Jean‑Pierre Nsame and emphasizing that a fourth quality forward would give the squad depth and tactical flexibility.
