Widzew Łódź challenges Lech Poznań in transfer market competition

Widzew Łódź has emerged as a significant competitor in the Polish transfer market, recently outmaneuvering Lech Poznań for a key winger. Club owner Piotr Rutkowski confirmed that Widzew’s increased investment—totaling approximately €22.93 million in recent transactions—allowed them to intervene in negotiations that Lech Poznań had been advanced in pursuing.

Meanwhile, Lech Poznań is focusing on the development of Patrik Wålemark. Despite previous injury concerns, the Swedish attacker has shown strong form, recording eight goals and five assists in sixteen appearances. Although FC Copenhagen reportedly offered €6 million for the player last summer, Lech declined to negotiate. The club has reportedly assured Wålemark that transfer offers will be considered after the current season, though internal opinions remain divided on whether the club can retain him long-term.
