Widzew Łódź dismisses head coach Aleksandar Vuković
Widzew Łódź has dismissed head coach Aleksandar Vuković following a poor start to the season, where the team secured only seven points from seven matches. Mateusz Stolarski has been appointed as his successor.
Sporting Director Łukasz Masłowski explained that the decision was driven by a need for a coaching vision and playing model more closely aligned with the expectations of the club's ownership and management. While results were a factor, the club cited differences in football philosophy as a primary reason for the change.
In a farewell message to supporters, Vuković expressed gratitude for his time at the club and the reception he received from fans. He noted that despite having previously won the Polish championship with Legia Warszawa, he considers his successful effort to maintain Widzew's position in the Ekstraklasa last season to be his greatest professional achievement.
