Widzew Łódź signs Swiss winger Darian Maleš
Widzew Łódź has officially completed the transfer of Swiss winger Darian Maleš from BSC Young Boys. The 25-year-old attacker signed a contract running until June 30, 2029, with an option for an additional year. The transfer fee is estimated to be approximately 500,000 euros.
Maleš brings significant European experience to the Ekstraklasa side, having participated in the Champions League and Europa League. During his tenure at Young Boys, he made 124 appearances, scoring 20 goals and providing 12 assists. He previously played for FC Basel and spent time in the Inter Milan youth system.
Following the club's acquisition by billionaire Robert Dobrzycki, Widzew has increased its financial capabilities, allowing for high-profile signings. Reports indicate Maleš will be among the club's highest earners, with an annual salary estimated at approximately 4.6 million PLN.
Widzew's sporting director, Artur Płatek, indicated that the club is not finished with the transfer window. He confirmed that the club is actively monitoring several players and intends to bring in another Polish player in the near future to further strengthen the squad.
