Wiener Gesundheitsverbund reports 52,000 appointments booked via 1450 hotline
The Wiener Gesundheitsverbund has reported that over 52,000 initial outpatient appointments have been booked through the 1450 health hotline since the service launched in July 2025. In 2026, the service has averaged nearly 4,000 bookings per month, with an increasing trend.
Currently, the booking system is available for approximately 225 outpatient clinics. At the Klinik Donaustadt, roughly 43 percent of all appointment bookings are now processed via the hotline. To use the service, patients must have a medical referral; the hotline then assigns an appointment to a suitable clinic based on the diagnosis. Patients receive confirmation via SMS or email.
Michael Binder, Medical Director of the Gesundheitsverbund, stated that the system provides patients with better orientation and reduces the effort of contacting multiple clinics, while offering the healthcare provider better predictability and efficiency. Plans are underway to expand the system to include follow-up and control appointments, as well as increasing the number of participating clinics.
