European companies announce major executive leadership changes

Several European companies have announced significant leadership changes.

Wienerberger is navigating a period of uncertainty following the sudden resignation of CEO Heimo Scheuch due to health reasons. Gerhard Hanke has stepped in as interim CEO while the company conducts a structured search for a permanent successor. This leadership transition coincides with market pressure, as the company's stock trades near its 52-week low and US asset manager Fidelity has reduced its stake.

STEICO SE has appointed Piotr Dziergas as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for a three-year term. Dziergas, who previously managed the company’s largest plant in Czarnków, Poland, succeeds Thorsten Leicht, who transitioned to the role of CEO in August.

In the insurance sector, Wiener Städtische has announced a management reshuffle effective July 1, 2027. Gerhard Hopfgartner, currently the regional director for Vienna, will become the new Sales and Marketing Board Member, succeeding Sonja Brandtmayer. Brandtmayer is set to take over the position of CEO at that time.
