Wiesbaden issues boil water advisory due to bacterial detection

The city of Wiesbaden has issued a boil water advisory for its city center, specifically in the area surrounding the Kurhaus, following the detection of the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa during a drinking water inspection.

While water samples from other districts and the wider surroundings of the city center were found to be unremarkable, the city has implemented safety measures to prevent potential health risks, such as pneumonia. Healthy individuals are advised to boil water before drinking, brushing teeth, preparing food, or washing food. They may also use bottled water as an alternative.

At-risk groups, including those with damaged skin or mucous membranes, are advised to use boiled water for more intensive hygiene tasks, including showering and hand washing.
