Wiesbaden launches open geodata access and hosts heat pump info day

The city of Wiesbaden has launched a new initiative to provide public access to various geodata via its open-data platform. Citizens, businesses, researchers, and educational institutions can now access and use current city maps, aerial images, and historical maps for free. This data is intended to support independent projects, scientific research, and spatial analysis, allowing users to compare historical urban development with modern layouts.

In a separate climate-focused initiative, Wiesbaden will host a nationwide heat pump information day on October 27. Organized by the city's environmental office and the Wiesbaden Climate Protection Agency, the event aims to provide neutral, expert advice to homeowners, particularly those in single-family houses not connected to the district heating network. The initiative supports the city's goal of achieving climate neutrality in heat supply by 2045.
