Wiesbaden reports smooth progress on right Rhine rail corridor renovation
The city of Wiesbaden has issued a positive interim assessment of the extensive renovation of the right‑hand Rhine railway corridor between Troisdorf and Wiesbaden. The 160‑kilometre stretch is being overhauled by DB InfraGO, with work on tracks, switches, overhead lines, bridges and station facilities.
During the multi‑month full closure, a bus‑based rail‑replacement service has been operating reliably, providing sufficient capacity and generating few complaints from commuters. The city praised DB InfraGO’s thorough preparation, transparent communication and effective execution, noting particular benefits for the local stations at Schierstein and Biebrich.
