Wiesbadener THC secures first 2nd Tennis Bundesliga win in Frankfurt

The Wiesbadener Tennis-Club (WTHC) captured its inaugural season victory in the German 2nd Tennis Bundesliga by edging Eintracht Frankfurt 5‑4 on the third matchday. After two narrow 4‑5 defeats that left the team at ninth place, the win propelled WTHC to sixth in the standings.

The decisive moments came in the doubles matches, where the pair of Kai Wehnelt and Niko Hipfl, as well as Milan Welte and Mick Veldheer, secured the crucial points. Individual victories by Wehnelt, Veldheer and Matthew Donald also contributed, while three singles losses kept the contest tight until the doubles turned the tide. The match, played before about 160 spectators, highlighted the club’s resilience under pressure.

The result strengthens WTHC’s position in the league and provides momentum for the remainder of the season.
