Wieson Technologies and SS Electronics announce HDMI 2.2 Ultra96 cables
Wieson Technologies and SS Electronics Co., Ltd. have announced the development and certification of next-generation HDMI 2.2 Ultra96 cables. These cables have successfully passed testing to support bandwidths of up to 96Gbps, a significant increase from the 48Gbps limit of HDMI 2.1.
The new Ultra96 standard is designed to meet the demands of high-performance computing, 16K ultra-high-resolution video, and professional gaming environments, such as 4K at 480fps refresh rates. A key feature of the HDMI 2.2 ecosystem is the Latency Indication Protocol (LIP), which improves audio-visual synchronization in multi-device setups by providing real-time feedback to prevent lip-sync issues.
Wieson Technologies has completed certification for its 2-meter cable through UL Solutions, an authorized testing center. SS Electronics plans to bring its high-end Ultra 96 HDMI cables to the Japanese market in early October 2026.
