Wijchen allocates funds to decorate electricity transformer stations with art

The municipality of Wijchen has allocated 30,000 euros to artistically decorate electricity transformer stations. This funding follows a subsidy received from the province of Gelderland intended to support livability initiatives in the areas of sport, culture, and social cohesion.

Under the ‘Kunst onder Spanning’ motion, the local government aims to improve public spaces by transforming these functional structures into works of art. The initiative is expected to encourage residents to collaborate on proposals, thereby fostering community connection. Additionally, 20,000 euros will be made available to facilitate cultural encounters.
