Wijhe municipality to host public meeting on Kindcentrum traffic plans

The municipality of Olst-Wijhe is hosting an information evening on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, to discuss proposed traffic measures surrounding the new Kindcentrum Wijhe. The session will take place at the Capellenborg theater hall from 19:30 to 21:00.

Residents can review detailed designs and consult with municipal employees and traffic experts. The proposed plans, which are based on traffic studies and the existing cycling and traffic plan for Wijhe and Boerhaar, include a new bicycle and pedestrian path across the SPOC site, traffic proposals for Lange Slagen, and a future roundabout at the intersection of De Omloop and De Lange Slagen. This roundabout is also intended to serve the new Wengelerhoek residential area.

The primary goal of these measures is to ensure a safe and accessible environment for children, parents, and visitors, prioritizing safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists alongside vehicular accessibility.
