Wilberson De Pena emerges as key Yankees prospect

Wilberson De Pena, a 19-year-old outfielder in the New York Yankees organization, has emerged as a notable prospect following a standout performance in the Florida Complex League (FCL). De Pena, who is ranked as the 14th prospect in the Yankees’ top-30 by MLB Pipeline, earned the FCL MVP award and was named its top prospect after recording a .358 average with 16 home runs and 23 stolen bases over 56 games.

After his success in the FCL, De Pena was promoted to Single-A Tampa in late July. However, his performance at the Single-A level has seen a decrease in batting success compared to his time in the FCL.
