Wild Beauty Art festival presents traditional and avant‑garde concerts in Žabljak
The 2024 Wild Beauty Art festival took place on the Durmitor mountain range in the municipality of Žabljak, Montenegro. On 8 August, folk‑music specialist Stefan Štef Ujkić performed a concert of traditional instruments at Macan meadow, highlighting the region’s non‑material cultural heritage. Two days later, on 10 August, the Austrian quartet Alpha Trianguli delivered a jazz‑inspired program titled “Jazz Meadow” at the same outdoor venue, showcasing improvisational music in a natural setting.
The festival received 90 000 EUR of funding from Montenegro’s Ministry of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development, supporting both the cultural programme and related events such as a drama performance of “Iphigenia”. The combined concerts emphasized a blend of local tradition and contemporary international sounds, attracting audiences to the high‑altitude venue.
