Wild Return documentary series to premiere on TV JOJ
The Slovak television station TV JOJ is set to premiere 'Wild Return' this autumn, an ambitious expedition documentary series that has been in production for three and a half years. Produced by Peter Núñez and conceived by naturalist Tomáš Hulík, the project aims to move beyond traditional local nature documentaries by filming on multiple continents.
The series focuses on the recovery of endangered animal species in their natural habitats, with filming locations spanning from Nepal and Uganda to Brazil. The crew captured footage of animals such as snow leopards, gorillas, wolves, and polar bears to document how certain populations have successfully returned from the brink of extinction.
While the project was developed without state or public funding, it has already garnered international interest. The documentary has been purchased by the German broadcaster RTL and is also slated for release in Australia.
