Wildfire affects 15 hectares in Sierras de Comechingones

A wildfire in the Sierras de Comechingones, located on the border between the provinces of Córdoba and San Luis, has affected an estimated 10 to 15 hectares of land. The fire was first detected on Monday, October 19, around 7:00 PM, primarily spreading through low-lying vegetation in a difficult-to-access mountainous area.

Emergency response efforts include aerial support from the National Fire Management Plan, utilizing a helicopter and a water bomber operating from the Santa Rosa del Conlara airport. Volunteer firefighters from Los Molles are being transported via helicopter to the site to conduct ground operations. While aerial assessments indicate the fire front is currently retreating, the blaze has not yet been fully contained.
